BIOGRAPHY

Pam’s journey towards her current work has been one filled with diversity and more than a few diversions. She was born in Chile and raised in Quebec; she earned her CEGEP diploma in 1972 at Concordia University, Montreal, and immediately set out to travel in Europe, North and South America.

While living in Germany, she made the decision to study photography and returned to Canada, entering the Photography program at Fanshawe College in London, Ontario in 1975. Over the next ten years she married, moved between London, Edmonton and Vancouver working as a graphic artist and photo artist, and finally settled in Edmonton in 1985 when she became the single parent of her two young boys.

In 1986, she returned to school and studied at the University of Alberta, earning a Bachelor of Fine Art degree "with distinction" in 1992. Painting became her chosen medium and personal passion. While maintaining employment as a coordinator and instructor of adult and youth training programs, she developed her skill as a painter and, in 2001, moved away from the city to her current lakeside home, beginning the transition from part-time to self-employed artist.

Pam currently works in her studio near the shore of Pigeon Lake, Alberta, and her work is gaining recognition throughout Canada.
